CUSTOMER CONFIDENCE - “THROUGH THE ROOF”
Slough-based Global Transport claims customer confidence in the company has gone through the roof since it started using Express Studio at the beginning of 2007.
Managing Director Kevin Shadbolt said: “Global Transport is a typical transport company. Customers used to be on the phone all the time looking for prices, proof of delivery notes etc. “They would get a price, we would do the job and then they would phone back to check the price was the same as we had quoted.
We spent so much time on the phones we didn’t have time to check on the jobs or what the final price was and ended up issuing credit notes because we couldn’t prove we had told our customers the new price. We were losing money.
“All of that has disappeared. We don’t get many phone calls. Customers just log onto the website and can see the status of their job immediately and the price they are going to be charged. Customer confidence is through the roof."
The company has been running for 15 years providing same day and overnight deliveries. It has 25 vehicles with a turnover of £3 million a year.
Express Studio has not only improved customer satisfaction and saved Global Transport money by ending the issuing of credit notes, but it has saved it 25 hours a week in invoicing time, and reduced its customer services staff requirement by one person.
“We used to spend hours every week producing invoices,” said Kevin. “Now it takes us minutes.”
“We’ve become so much more efficient, the staff we employ has reduced by one and as a manager I can now access all the jobs and customer enquiries from outside of the office. From an MD’s point of view it just gives me so much more flexibility.
